Information relevant to seizures that don’t stop on their own. This is called status epilepticus. Tonic-clonic seizures lasting more than 5 minutes need urgent treatment. If a tonic-clonic seizure or cluster of tonic-clonic seizures lasts for 30 minutes or more it can cause damage to the brain, or even death.
